HENNING REMMENS STØTTEFOND FOR GARDERE
23.02.2011
February 23, 2011 “Henning Remmens Støttefond for Gardere” donated eleven honorary grants to soldiers who had shown an outstanding effort in international military missions.
The Foundation, established in 2010 and administered by Soldaterlegatet, hands out grants to soldiers and families with special needs on a regular basis. The honorary grants, however, are primarily handed out on the founder’s – Henning Remmen – birthday on 23 February. It was in connection with the latter that these honorary grants were awarded.
Colonel Lasse Harkjær, Commander of the Royal Life Guards and Chairman of the Board of Henning Remmens Støttefond for Gardere, gave an emotional speech in which he explained why each soldier deserved to receive this particular honorary grant.
In his speech Colonel Lasse Harkjær pointed out: “We should not forget that 80-90% of our soldiers return as strong and educated young people benefitting the Danish society – some of these men, we are honoring today by rewarding them with the grants from Henning Remmens Støttefond for Gardere”.
