THE 100th ANNIVERSARY MATCH
2022
On 13 August 1922, 100 years ago, the football match between the Royal Life Guards and the Royal Swedish Life Guards was last played.
To mark the 100th anniversary, the Remmen Foundation co-sponsored the football match on 13 August 2022.
The 1922 football match was held to strengthen Nordic Guard cooperation. At that time the match ended 3-3 and the winner was decided by a draw, which was won by the Royal Life Guards.
The match 100 years later ended 2-1 to the Royal Life Guards, where regulars, sergeants and constables had changed from uniform to football jersey to defend the Danish colours.
The Music Corps and the Drum Corps, as well as the Naval Drum Corps, provided musical entertainment both before and after the match.
